Response - Ability

Our own ability to respond to circumstances going on around us at all times, dictates the results we are getting in our lives and careers.
1. When you respond negatively, you get negative results.
2. When you respond positively, you get positive results.
It’s just that simple.
The trick is learning which response to use in the right situation and how to control the impulse to use the wrong one.
When we learn to control and channel our response abilities properly,we start to get good results very fast.
Let's look at a few negative responses we might hear or use ourselves on any given day:

I just can’t do that.
I really don’t have time.
The driver in front of me needs to move out of my way!
Why would they choose him over me?
He did it completely wrong!
That’s not going to work. I’m not even going to try that.
I shouldn’t have to do that!
Why is it so hard?
I can’t get here early because…
That girl at the check out is wasting my time.

Any of these responses sound familiar? They should because we have all used them at one time or another in our lives. It’s easy to see the negative all around us. It takes effort to see the positives.

Your responses are based on your own beliefs, thoughts, and images that you have developed and held in your own mind. If you replace those negative thoughts, beliefs and images with positive ones, you  then have the ability to control your responses. You become a Creator of your own circumstances.

Let’s change some of those negative responses to positive ones and see how they feel.

I can do that!
I’ve just made some time for it.
I'm always in the right place at the right time so traffic doesn't really bother me.
Maybe this guy has something to offer that I don’t know about.
That was a different way to do it, maybe it will work.
How can I fix it?
It’s got be done and I’m the person to do it!
I enjoy a challenge. Bring it on!
I am never late! I make things fit.
I'm going to think of something nice to say to that check out girl. She may be haveing an extremely bad day that started before I ever got in this line.
The truth,is whether you believe it or not; your thoughts, beliefs and actions have created the results in your life that currently exist up to this point. So, why not work on your response ability and start creating the career and life you really wish to live.
Consistent and repetitive thoughts gain strength and power. It becomes a fact in our own mind. It becomes our own truth. We learn to live by it and it becomes who we are and then what we project out to others

You may be surrounded by blaming, complaining and excuses. All of these are negatives right? Have you ever blamed the traffic for being late for work? Have you blamed the economy for sagging sales? What did these thoughts actually bring you? Did the traffic clear a space around you all of a sudden and allow you to get to work on time? Did people start to walk up directly to you and give you more sales? Do you ever complain about the weather? Sometimes we complain about random silly things that we can’t do anything about just to make conversation with our coworkers.

When you give up negative conversation and images going on in your head, you then make room for positive statements. You then start to have the space to receive clarity around what you really want.
You have taken your response ability and turned it into Responsibility!

This is how you start to take ownership of your life, your career, your success.
You own what is going on in your career.
